Kelbrook Shooting School

The Lodge

Introduction

Kelbrook Lodge is a traditional shooting box set in its own grounds on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border.  It is located 8 miles west of the market town Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire dales.

The M65 link to M66, M62 or M6 is only 12 minutes away, giving easy access to Leeds, Manchester and Preston. [ Click here for Directions ]

The Lodge itself was purpose built in 1908 for shooting entertainment days by Edward Carr, a wealthy local lawyer for his clients and guests.  Now almost a century later it is still used for this Victorian tradition, now one of the most popular ways of entertaining business associates, friends and family.

The Lodge is now a family business run by Michael Meggison, a member of the British Olympic shooting team in 1980 & 1984 and son Aaron, himself having great success on the British team and Commonwealth championships since the age of 13.

Primarily a professional shooting school, open 6 days a week, with the objective of simulating game birds in exactly the correct environment. [ Click here for Opening Times ] The grounds lend themselves perfectly with grouse moors, lakes and woodlands to give an extremely relaxing setting for an enjoyable days shooting.

The armoury holds a varied selection of shooting accessories and sporting shotguns which guests may try.  Including all the old and new innovations that have graced the sport for centuries.
