Meet the Team

Michael Meggison

Michael has over 50 years of shooting and gun fitting experience, who became a qualified coach in 1972.

He has represented Great Britain in 2 Olympic games, 1980 & 1984.

Is the ONLY person to win the British Championships in all 3 Firearms events
(Pistol ‘76, Rifle ‘77 & Shotgun ‘91) this record can never be beaten as pistol shooting is now banned in UK.

Brenda Meggison

Brenda had the original idea to run corporate hospitality shooting days here at Kelbrook back in 1984…..but passed the organisation of the days to her son Aaron. Brenda sadly passed away in April 07, after fighting a long illness. Though her ideas for the ground live on.

Aaron  Meggison

Following his father Aaron started shooting when he was 7yrs old with a gun bigger than him!

At the age of 13 he had qualified for the British Olympic Trap, Universal Trap & Double Trap shooting teams, where over the next seven years picked up various medals in English, British, European & World Championships.

Picked up the Silver medal in mens pairs at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships in Malaysia

Chris Hartley

Chris is the Ground Technician, he keeps the layout running smoothly and all the traps full.

He will be happy to direct you to that ‘particular’ target that you seek…and if he cant find you one will be happy to set one up!

John Hall

John is a professionally qualified shooting instructor. His qualifications include:

* CPSA Academy and APSI qualified Shooting Instructor *

* CRB cleared *

* Member of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI) *

* CPSA Safety Officer and English Sporting Referee *

During his long shooting career he has been a member of the CPSA North of England & Lancashire Sporting Teams and has also qualified for the CPSA British Open Sporting Finals Day on two occasions.

His greatest success in coaching has also been the most difficult when he agreed to teach his wife, who had never shot before, to shoot. She became the CPSA North of England Ladies Champion on two occasions.

Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced shot, shooting sporting clays or game, John who has coached may hundreds of shooters, will be happy to help you progress your shooting or rectify any particular problems.

He has great patience, thus proven when he coached his wife to North of England Ladies Champion in 2001.

Nigel Hirst

Nigel is qualified in the following : CPSA Qualified Coach, International referee, Great Britain chief FITASC referee, CPSA Coach Tutor.

And has won the following : Great Britain Police National Champion 2000, Inter Services Champion 2000 & North of England Sporting Champion 2001.
